I've learned a lot......

This weekend marked 8 weeks since my little girl was born. Wow how time fly's!

We had the opportunity to bless her Sunday (and when I say we I mean PETER...). What a great day it was! I knew I'd be emotional, cause hi, it's ME. . . but I was a mess before we even left the house!! I'm going to blame it on a partial lack of sleep, will anyone call me out on that? :) I learned a couple things this weekend that I'd like to share with you all. Eh hem:

1- Its great to get all the laundry done before family comes over. Somehow it helps make the house feel clean. (this includes bathing the dogs, and washing all their dog beds and kennel liners.

2- Don't get too busy that you feel the need to lock the dogs in your bedroom...or if you do, make sure there is nothing out that they can destroy.

SEE INSERTS 1 AND 2: (photos taken at 12:30 AM the morning of Elsje's blessing)

Yes, they were asleep in the dog bed they tore up. This was because there was no cover on the fluff, so the material was easily "ripable".
In case you need a closer look at the sleeping destroyers:

More on this later....

3- The family that cares, shares.
My parents were able to make it (although my dad's back was in extreme pain) and my brother Mark and two of his kids came (karen came in spirit...her little one was super sick with a high fever and was not able to make the trek down. Karen, I used that cute blanket you made for Elsje and the cute burp cloth you made as well, thank you!!), and Gregg and his whole family came and made a weekend out of it. Randal and his family were not able to make it, but Marian stopped by a few days earlier when she was in town to squish on the baby, and Randal called the night of the blessing to see how things went. I'm really appreciative of my family and the sacrifices they made this weekend to be a part of Elsje's life. It won't be forgotten any time soon.

4-Little babies allow the spirit to be so strong. Sacrament meeting was a great meeting for me. I felt the spirit so strong, and I was able to witness my husband use his priesthood power.

5- luncheons are NOT overrated. Even though things were hectic, I was SO glad to have family and friends over to celebrate. Thanks to both families for providing things for the luncheon. what a blast!

6- I could totally have another kid.....

Sunday was a very special day, and I'm excited that I finally got my chance at motherhood. Its pretty awesome.

As for the craft of the week....I'm sure you all want to know how to patch a torn up dog bed. Well you are in luck! I have just completed such a craft. See below for steps:

1- get dogs
2- train these animals to run around your house like wild animals and let them sleep on beds made of fluff
3- take cover off said dog bed, wash it, then DON'T put it back on the fluff
4- put dogs in room without supervision with "fluff" part of bed
5- see the damage at 12:30 AM, act mad at dogs, forget about it till two days later
6- get duct tape and tape together the material holding in fluff

See tutorial pic below:

Have a great couple of days!! talk to you soon!

just cause:
