Zoo Time!

So, last week, Peter had 3 days off work. If any of you know Peter at all, you know he loves to "explore", and just get up and go....no planning, no thinking, just DOING. This last week and weekend were not an exception. We had things going everyday! Today I want to share our Zoo visit from Tuesday. Elsje has been once to the Tauphus Park Zoo in Idaho Falls, and once to the Hogle Zoo in SLC. She was so little though, she was sleeping in her stroller the whole time. :( This time was different. Her dad wanted to hold her almost the whole time so she got to see lots of things, and Peter had a great time showing her the world around us. I had a good time keeping my pregnant body out of pictures. haha

She was glued to anything that was moving or doing something fun. Once she couldn't see the animal anymore, she lost interest.

It was feeding time when we went...so we got to see a lot of the animals being fed. They were out and active!

She was pretty attached to the bamboo that was by the elephants...so much so that we thought we had discarded of all the pieces she had broken off and kept...till we got to the car and she had a ton stashed under her toosh. lol

There were a few tortoise there...bigger than Elsje, and she enjoyed watching them eat for a min....

So this was the coolest thing about the Zoo. This little monkey swung over to Elsje and stared at her for a min, then put his/her hand up to the glass and waited for Elsje to touch it....to which Elsje responded with putting her hand up to the glass. He/she did this SEVERAL times, of which I got a few great shots. Elsje thought this was pretty cool. (I think....)

Elsje looked a little concerned in this pic. We stood her up facing the glass and I think without a mom or dad, it was TOO close to these cute animals.

We had a really great time at the zoo and I'm looking forward to when Elsje is older and she can REALLY experience things in this world.
