So for the RAW part of my day today, I had some carrots that were on the "verge", so I decided to dig deep and try carrot juice. I've always thought carrot juice would be so sour or something....but nevertheless.
I have a juicer that I won't promote cause lets be honest, I hate it....but with some leftover Christmas money, I plan to get a new one. Here is what I did:
1 lb of carrots with greens
1 apple
1/2 to 1 whole lemon depending on how long you've been trying carrot juice
I had a lb of carrots, but I received them in Bountiful Basket so the stems were cut off...
I had an apple
I didn't have any lemons, so I just used lemon extract.
I'm going to make sure that I try it next time with the greens and a real lemon, but I have to say, it was pretty delicious. The first few sips were pretty strong, but after that, it had a good flavor, and I was sad to see the last sip go.
As far as a meal, I'm not sure it would be as filling as I would like, but 1 lb of carrots made about10-12 oz. So, I guess if you are worried about it filling you up, just make more! Happy juicing!!
